Semantic Chunking

Semantic chunking is the bridge between the Answer Capsule (40 to 60 words under each H2) and longer form prose. After the Answer Capsule provides the direct answer, the expanded explanation should be chunked into passages of roughly 150 words, each capable of being cited independently.

A page targeting "best GLP-1 clinic in [city]" with a single 800 word block of prose loses to a competitor with the same content broken into five 150 word passages, each with a distinct internal topic, each citing 2 to 4 facts.

Cited facts

  • Semantic Completeness correlates r=0.87 with Google AI Mode citation frequency. Passages must be strictly 134 to 167 words to optimize for the Island Test (Wellows, 2026).
