A query is counted as cited when the AI engine's first answer names the client business in the answer body or recommendation set for an agreed high-intent query. Paid placements, unrelated footnotes, post-clarifier mentions, and source-only appearances without brand recommendation do not count. The agreed query set and the agreed engine set are locked in writing before kickoff.
