A site that blocks OAI-SearchBot in robots.txt, or lets a firewall or CDN setting block it, can be left out of ChatGPT search answers. A site that blocks only GPTBot opts out of training and stays eligible for ChatGPT search.
Being crawlable is eligibility, not a ranking boost. Once pages can be fetched, whether ChatGPT names a brand depends on what those pages say and on the third party sources ChatGPT trusts for that question.
