Share of Model is the headline metric in the KailxLabs measurement protocol because it captures the binary outcome of AI search: cited or not cited. Traditional rank tracking (position 1 to 10) does not apply because AI search has no list. A clinic is either in the answer or not.
Track SoM weekly across a stable Prompt Library covering Discovery prompts (broad informational), Comparison prompts (X vs Y), and Reputation prompts (is X reliable). The four engine score (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews) is the canonical KailxLabs reporting format.
